Francis Kemausuor
Dean of the Faculty

Francis Kemausuor is Dean of the Faculty. Francis is an Associate Professor with research interest in Bioenergy Technology, Rural Energy Systems, Energy Planning, and Energy Policy. He has served as Visiting Lecturer / Researcher and Adjunct Professor at several universities, including the University of Life Sciences in Norway, the Pan African University – Institute of Energy and Water Sciences (PAUWES) in Tlemcen, Algeria, the Ecole Superieure des Metiers des Energies Renouvelables in Abomi-Calavi, Benin and the Regional Maritime University in Ghana. He has also spent 6 months at the University of Michigan, as part of the University of Michigan African Presidential Scholars (UMAPS) programme. Francis holds a Ph.D. in Bioengineering, an MPhil in Engineering for Sustainable Development, and a BSc in Agricultural Engineering, with First Class Honours. Francis has studied at the University of Cambridge, Denmark Technical University, and the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology.  He has also received training in ‘biofuels and chemicals from plant resources’ at the then International Centre for Science and High Technology (ICS), a UNIDO science and technology research branch in Italy. Francis served as Director of The Brew-Hammond Energy Centre at KNUST, from August 2019 to October 2022; and Head of the Department of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering between November 2022 and October 2023. He is a Professional Engineer and a member of the Ghana Institution of Engineering.
